The Angels fell into a 4-0 hole and couldn't make it all the way back Saturday in a 4-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs. Taylor Ward got them on the board with a two-run homer in the sixth while José Soriano took the loss after allowing three runs, one earned, and fanning four in 3.1 innings.
Non-roster invitee Jancarlos Cintron's solo homer in the top of the ninth proved important as Arizona held off the Texas Rangers 5-4 on Saturday. Blaze Alexander also homered for the Diamondbacks.
Right-hander Zac Gallen has allowed four runs in 4.2 innings of work in spring training for Arizona and takes the ball on Sunday. Los Angeles opens with left-hander Patrick Sandoval, who has been roughed up for 11 runs, eight earned, in seven innings this spring.
